Wing Spot!
Russell Louis and I are huge fans of wings, and even more so, we love a great wing special.
I honestly thought that hunting down good wing deals in NYC would be tough. Not that I thought they wouldn’t exist, but I thought that the prospect of a plate of chicken wings for $3 or less would be kept hush-hush.
Luckily, when our friend Top $ Raz was having a poultry craze, we did some e-search and found out about Croxley’s Ale House and Eatery. Not only does Croxley’s have wing specials four nights of the week, but they have over 30 ales and lagers on draught and they don’t carry Bud, Miller or Coors…So don’t try to order them like Bad Habbits did.
Belgian beers (these are just my fav; they have beers from just about every country you can think of), ciders, beer cocktails, seasonal ales…you name it, they got it!
On a Sunday, during the 20-cent wing special promotion, Croxley’s wasn’t crowded, and it was the perfect environment to catch the football game with friends. We can’t wait to visit on a Monday or Wednesday for 10-cent wings! And yes, they are good!
The wings were hot, well-flavored and of decent size. Beware: celery costs extra.
While we visited the location on Avenue B, Croxley’s has locations in Farmingdale, Franklin Square and Rockville Centre. Happy Hour is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday; and on Friday that includes a free buffet.
Russell and I give Croxley’s two thumbs way up, and I definitely see us visiting again in the near future. Anyone else know any places with great wing specials?
