The score of 88 to 82 doesn’t really reflect it, but with their awesome threes and not as sucky as usual defense…do you think that the Knicks could surprise us this year?
I’m not going to hold my breath, I’m just glad that there is a (half) season at all.
One fear that I have this Christmas, however, is that they are not warmed up enough to face off against the Celtics in their season opener.
If Jared Jeffries wasn’t on the team anymore (why is he a professional athlete again?), we’d definitely have a fighting chance…But for some reason, not only does this dude get too much game time, he also ends up with the ball way too often. Learn how to shoot or find a new job, JJ.
Oh and further evidence that America really does hate Kris Humphries? He got signed to the Nets and almost booed out of MSG. That’s a bigger joke than his “marriage.” Poor guy.
Knicks, Amare, Chandler, Carmelo, Coach D’Antoni…give us the best gift of all on Christmas…A win!

So where was I when Landry Fields was passing out speed dating invitations?
At least when the Knicks aren’t winning, they still know how to have decent fun off court. It’s great to see players that still have a very humble attitude, not letting the fame destroy their youth or dedication to their team…or to basketball in general, for that matter.
Here’s to wishing our rookies long and successful careers in the NBA.

So the CAVs ended the HEATs 5 game winning streak… and Baron Davis (My favorite basketball player in highschool) was able to be apart of it. Glad to see Miami Heat take the L… It’s a wake up call. Oh and I love the quote from www.rotoworld.com It’s ” Baron starts, gives Cavs winning attitude” DOPE!
Peace

P.S.
Remember these days?

Who’s going to make it to the NBA finals this year?
Rats if I know, I think it’s still too early to tell. The Lakers are just getting into their end-of-the season groove, and some teams, like the Knicks, are still playing in this unpredictable pattern (i.e. beating teams like the Miami Heat and then losing to teams like the Pistons, and for some reason not finding the need to sink frees, make threes, or play any defense).
But you know what I do know? Whoever makes it to the finals, I’ll be cheering them on in style, thanks to affordable NBA apparel now available at Forever 21 and Old Navy!

Come on Knicks!
What ever happened to playing defense? What ever happened to scoring three-pointers? These are looking like the same old Knicks that lack confidence through games that should be easy to win.
The Knicks have always had the tendency of winning against top contending teams and then literally dropping the ball when it comes to stepping stone games, like tonight’s.
I’m just disappointed because Rusty and I probably won’t be able to score tickets to another game this season. And I still believe that in games like tonight’s, Gallinari would have come through in the pinch and really helped us out…unlike Mr.Ego, Carmelo Anthony. Anthony may have scored 25 points tonight, but more than 50% of those were in the first quarter alone, meaning that he was a ghost for the rest of the night.
To be a New York sports fan…it’s grueling.

Suck it up, gentlemen.

On this day, January 22, we commemorate the birthday of Julius ‘Dr.Jay’ Erving (1950). Not only is Erving the fifth-highest scoring player in professional basketball history (30,026 points), but he also helped to popularize “above-the-rim” moves, in particular, the slam dunk.
Erving has gone on to influence many, entertainer Will Smith and President Barack Obama both eagerly call him a personal hero. Rapper Dr.Dre also credits “Dr.Jay” with influencing his name.
”Respect is a lot more important, and a lot greater, than popularity.”

The ‘Melo-drama’ is over and it has possibly resulted in the worst NBA trade ever.
Wilson Chandler, gone.
Danilo Gallinari, gone.
Raymond Felton, gone.
Timofey Mozgov, gone.
First-round pick in 2014 and $3 million cash, gone.
For who? Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman…Who are these people?
While ticket prices for Knicks games are rising as we gripe or grin about the trade, I believe that the headache has only just begun. We’ve just traded all of our promising young talent, with the exception of Landry Fields, for yesterday’s superstars.
We’ll see how the Knicks compete for the rest of the season and then I’ll let you know how I feel about this trade. The fact of the matter is, Anthony would have come to New York when his contract in Denver was up because he wants to be closer to his hometown and his wifey, Lala. So was this over the top trade really necessary?
I think not!
